# Pushing Grades & Feedback Back to Canvas

Send grades and feedback back to Canvas SpeedGrader for assignments imported from Canvas.

For assignments imported from Canvas, you can send grades and feedback from TimelyGrader straight back to Canvas.

Only instructors can push grades; TAs can’t. Quiz grades pass back the same way, with feedback going to each criterion’s feedback box. Oral assessment grades go to the Destination Assignment chosen in **Passback Settings**; see [Sending oral grades to your LMS](/canvas-support-articles/tutorials-oral-assessments-canvas/oral-passback.md).

### Open the assignment

Go to the **Assignments** page and open the graded assignment.

### Push grades and feedback

Open the **Manage Submissions** page and select **Push to LMS**.

### Choose how you want to push back the grades and feedback

You have two options here and should over all use cases:

1. **Push Missing Entries:** only pushes back grades and feedback for students who does not already have a record on Canvas SpeedGrader and Gradebook. This is to prevent overwriting existing grades that you may have manually entered.&#x20;
2. **Update Existing Entries:** this will be used when a student create an additional submission, which you graded, leading to an outdated record on Canvas. This overwrites on purpose any outdated scores that we detect to bring grade and feedback records up to date.&#x20;

### Review and confirm

Don't worry, before you confirm, there will be an additional check to see if records that will be pushed back looks correct. Once you hit 'Push Grades', there's no going back!
