What Data Does TimelyGrader Collect?

At TimelyGrader, we’re committed to transparency about the information we collect and just as importantly, what we don’t. Here’s an overview of the types of data our platform handles to deliver reliable grading and feedback.

Data We Collect

1. Assignment Content

  • Assignment instructions, questions, details, and rubrics provided by instructors.

  • Student submissions (such as essays, short answers, or projects) for grading.

2. User Information

  • Basic account details for instructors and students, such as:

    • Name

    • Institutional email address

    • Role (student, instructor, admin)

  • Course and section information for roster and grading purposes.

3. Platform Usage Data

  • Log-in times, IP addresses, device/browser type, and usage analytics to help us maintain platform security, troubleshoot issues, and improve user experience.

4. Feedback and Grades

  • AI-generated feedback, instructor comments, and final grades generated or stored through TimelyGrader.

What We Don’t Collect

  • We do not collect sensitive personal identifiers such as government-issued IDs, home addresses, or phone numbers.

  • We do not track user activity outside of the TimelyGrader platform.

  • We do not access content stored in other systems unless explicitly integrated and authorized by your institution.

How We Protect Your Data

  • All data is encrypted in transit and at rest in compliance with SOC 2 Type 2. Our audit report can be shared upon request.

  • Personally identifiable information is never shared with third-party AI partners.

  • Only anonymized assignment content is sent to our AI models for grading and feedback.

  • Access is restricted to authorized users and is monitored for security.
