Student Preview shows a student’s view of the course. Use Try as Student for oral activities and Preview for apprenticeship steps.
{% endhint %}

## Before you start

* The course is open in the sidebar.
* The work you want to check is published. Drafts are invisible to students, so they do not appear in the preview either.

## Steps

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Turn on Student Preview

Click Show Student Preview. The sidebar switches to what a student sees, with Coursework and My Work instead of your instructor pages.

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Check Coursework

Coursework lists everything assigned, in the order it comes due, with status and points. Open an item to see the description and rubric exactly as students read them.

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Check oral activities and apprenticeships

For an oral assessment, use Try as Student on the activity page; nothing is saved or graded. For an apprenticeship, use Preview on each step card.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Return to your view

Click Show Instructor View, or Exit student preview, to go back.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## Troubleshooting

<details>

<summary>An assignment is missing from the preview.</summary>

It is still a draft. Publish it and it appears.

</details>

## FAQ

<details>

<summary>Do students see AI suggestions or evidence?</summary>

No. Students see released feedback and grades only.
